| Six Months to One Year Prior |
| Pick a wedding date. |
| Set an appointment with the officiate of the ceremony. |
| Come up with a budget. |
| Determine the type of wedding you want - formal, outdoor, color scheme, theme (if any). |
| If outdoors, have a Plan B for indoors to deal with rain or high winds. |
| Choose your wedding party attendants. |
| Create a draft guest list |
| Hire a wedding coordinator if so desired |
| Secure locations and times for ceremony and reception. |
| Choose a professional photographer and DJ or band. |
| Select and book a caterer if not provided by the reception location. |
| Get estimates for floral and / or balloon arrangements. |
| Shop for wedding gown, headpiece, veil, etc (plan of several gown fittings). |
| Select and order bridesmaids' dresses |
| Inform mothers to choose their dresses. |
| Renting any equipment? Reserve it now (tents, tables, chairs, pillars, etc. |
| Five Months Prior |
| Order invitations. |
| Plan the reception. |
| Select the florist and other decorating touches. |
| Choose and order attire for the men. |
| Plan the honeymoon. (gentlemen - for years of happiness, don't mess this part up) |
| Choose wedding cake baker and place an order. |
| Make appointment for engagement photos. (probably done at consultation when you book a photographer) |
| Arrange transportation for entire bridal party to and from the ceremony and reception. |
| Shop for wedding rings. |
| Register with a gift registry. |
| Two Months Prior |
| Schedule rehearsal and go over all the details with he officiate. |
| Plan rehearsal dinner. |
| Final gown fitting. |
| Schedule hair appointments with stylist or beauty salon. |
| Pick attendant and groom gifts. |
| Make moving arrangements if applicable. |
| Finalize your guest list. |
| One Months Prior |
| Marriage license. |
| Mail invitations. |
| Make room reservations for out of town guests - even earlier if a summer wedding |
| Attend your shower. |
| Confirm music arrangements and check selections. |
| Check wedding party attire. |
| Two Weeks Prior |
| Discuss you hair style with stylist and bring your headpiece and veil. |
| Check with your caterer with any last minute changes. |
| Notify the newspaper. Use an engagement photo for your announcement. |
| Final check for the wedding party attire. |
| One Week Prior |
| Remind rehearsal dinner guests for date and time. |
| Wrap groom and attendant gifts. |
| Finalize details for the ceremony and rehearsal with all parties involved. |
| Pack for the honeymoon. |
| The Day Before |
| Keep it simple and pamper yourself. |
| Enjoy a manicure, pedicure, and a massage. |
| Attend the wedding rehearsal and dinner. |
| Give guest list to ushers. |
| The Wedding Day |
| Don't forget to eat before you start getting ready. |
| Hair and makeup. |
| Appoint someone to check ceremony and reception for any items left behind. |
| Make sure the best man and maid of honor sign the wedding certificate. |
