| Comments: This month's winner uses several techniques taught in Photo Tips 101. First there's Simple Background with the ice falls. The Rule of Thirds - placing the subject off-center. And lastly, Space in Front of the Face; When doing any portrait and with any profile at all - put some space in front of the subject's face - adds depth and gives the subject and the viewer a little breathing room. For all these reasons this photograph is worthy of this month's prize. A very good composition. | ||||

Simply email your jpg, gif, bmp, or tif entry to decor @ decorphoto.com. Because of Spam, plase type my address yourself and add - for Pic of the Month - in the subject block! You can also snail-mail your picture and, if chosen, Decor will scan your photo for display on this page. We can scan slides, negatives, and prints up to 8x10. Entries received by the 25th of the month compete for the following month. A contestant may win only once in a calendar year. There are no categories meaning any subject matter from any place or any country can win. Prizes are awarded to amateurs only. What would you pros want with my photography anyway? |
