About

Alaska State Flag

the Big Dipper and North Star

In the Fall of 1991, I, Steve Kelly and my two daughters Juli and Kim, made the move to Alaska to take a job in Anchorage. This was our chance to see the Last Frontier; Land of the Midnight Sun.  And so we left Seattle, Washington in our little Nissan and drove into British Columbia.  We dove through the longest part of BC, connected to the AlCan Highway, caught a bit of the Yukon and Northwest Territories, crossed into Alaska, and headed south to Anchorage.  In all, it was 2500 miles over 7 days and not once did we lose site of the mountains.  It was this trip that turned me from a portrait photographer into a nature photographer.  I have been shooting nature ever since.  I still kept my portrait skills up by taking pictures of my daughters ..... much to their dismay.

In 1998, Juli decided that it might be more fun to be behind the camera instead of always being pushed in front of it.  And so began her career in nature photography.  She also got experience in portrait work because her friends thought they could get a deal.  And they did.  Since then, Juli and I traveled together all throughout Alaska shooting wildlife, wild flowers, and wild scenery.  We have produced "Wild Alaska", the best selling photo CD today in gift shops, cruise lines, and lodges all over Alaska.

About 5 years ago, a friend of Juli's invited us to their wedding -  just a small, we-have-no-money affair at a small cabin in the country just big enough for a handful of friends.  A week later, they asked if we would shoot the wedding as friends.  We agreed.  When they saw the pictures, they gave us a few dollars to thank us for the wonderful images of their day.

A month later, another friend called.  "We saw the pictures of the Danny's wedding and want you to do ours."  And so we did Mark's wedding too.  They then told a friend who called us, who told a friend who called us, and so on and so on.  And that,  ladies and gentlemen  is how we got started as wedding photographers.

Today we offer a professional, "One Simple Package"  along with several "Add-Ons" to customize your photographic needs.  We are easy to work with, flexible, competitive in cost, and use two photographers.  If you are reading this, then we hope you'll give us a call and let us work with you to capture your special day.
